Today, former President Cory Aquino passed away after a year-long battle with colon cancer. Thank you for bringing democracy back to the Philippines. You were a truly brave person and a source of inspiration to many of us.
On a more personal front, today, our 14.5 year old pomeranian, Ken, was put to sleep after suffering from advanced periodontal disease. The disease caused bone and teeth loss in his lower jaw and eventually affected his heart and kidney. Although he refused to give up, the disease weakened him terribly, and from yesterday on he couldn't eat or drink even when I tried to feed him and his nose already touched the Cerelac in his bowl. I know he was in a great deal of suffering but I couldn't help crying when our family decided it's time to let him go. Goodbye, Ken, you can rest now.
